District IV Logo USA!

This site is here for you, the District IV model aviator. It is our goal to make your hobby a little more fun and maybe a little easier. Whether you are a builder or a flier; control line, free flight, or radio control; soaring or powered... we want to give you information that will help you, keep you informed about what is going on, and hopefully even entertain you.

Graham O. Lomax , age 80, died March 2, 2008 at Union Hospital in Elkton, MD, after a short illness.
Graham graduated from Newark High School in 1945, and served in the US Army for 2 years. He worked 40 years for Rittenhouse Motor Co. in Newark where he was a top-notch automobile mechanic. Graham enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life. For many years, he was a league bowler with the team called the 'Bald Eagles.' Graham was very dedicated to building and flying radio controlled model airplanes. He was an early member of the Delaware R/C Model Club, and recently flew with the Silent Knights. During the 1960's he traveled with the national model airplane demonstration team, showing the large model biplane that he built and flew. Graham was a long time member of Ebenezer Methodist Church.
Graham was the son of the late Gray O. and Reba W. Lomax. He was preceded in death by brothers Ernest S. Lomax and Clifford W. Lomax, and sister, Olive Greenplate. Graham is survived by his dear friend Vivian Timmons, and by nephews: Kenneth M. Lomax of West Grove, PA, Russell C. Lomax of Newark, DE, and Glenn C. Lomax of Lynchburg, VA; and nieces: Anne R. Lomax, and Suellen G. Ward, both of Newark, DE; and cousins.

What's New:

Important Notice:
Folks, it has been brought to my attention that R/C equipment is missing from the National Institute of Aerospace located in Hampton VA, property of the University of Maryland. Below is the latest information I have from the university professor detailing some of stolen RC equipment:
The equipment is a Raptor 30 helicopter with red, black, and yellow University of Maryland colors, a set of radios (Hitec Eclipse and SkySport) in a metal case, TorqMaster starter and battery, and 2 Triton battery chargers. The equipment was stolen between Dec 21 and Jan 17, during the holiday break.
Raptor 30 picture
Please note the Raptor 30 and has a unique decal affixed to the canopy.
Sadly, this hardware was instrumental in a university project conducted by collage students working toward a degree in aerospace research. Please notify the appropriate authorities or professor Guerreiro if you have seen any of the identifiable equipment:
